I admit I did very little research. I went to Target + Babies R Us and was less than thrilled with their options. I looked online a lot, but I kind of wanted to see them in person. And then my friend Andrea, who's coming to visit me this weekend, told me she got hers at REI. Random, but they carry a brand called Bob. Wish it was Bon. So I went, wheeled around the aisles, fell in love and walked out with my stroller. No list of pros & cons here. I just thought it was good looking and liked the colors. I'm a simple gal.
The funny thing is I got home to show hubs (who told me to basically buy whatever I wanted - good man) and he started laughing. You see I'd bought a jogging stroller. No big deal except that I don't jog. Ever. Ha! I don't care. I love my stroller and maybe this will motivate me to do a little jogging. Maybe.
Oh and let me introduce you to my practice baby… Mose. Actually he's pretty similar to the real thing. Very needy, cries a lot when left alone and loves to cuddle. Plus my parents spoil him rotten. He was a stellar stand in and got along smashingly with Bob. That is until I saw him sniffing the wheels. Mose likes to mark his territory on car tires and pretty much anything. I scooped him right up just in case. Good boy.
The Bob is supposed to be awesome! That's what the word on baby street is from my friends with children.
ReplyDeleteexcellent choice! i did tons f research and wound up with the bob. now i have the bob duallie and it is a tank!!! but so smooooth. esp when i jog;)
ReplyDeleteoh, be sure and get the carseat attachment - a little bar that you put on it so you can snap the carseat in. it's nice b/c they're really not big enough to sit in the main seat until 4 months or so. also, that way you don't have to wake them if they're asleep in the carseat and you need to move them to the stroller.
ReplyDeleteLove your new set of wheels!
ReplyDeleteYou just took me in a time machine to 1984. And I want to go back! Plus Mose looks huge!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting a Bob (and the carseat attachment). All of my friends swear by them!
ReplyDeleteI'm a jogger--- but I also walk a lot in my neighborhood with friends... and that's what they use for walking.
Dude, the BOB rocks...but you're gonna need a stroller for errands and shiz. Hit me up!
ReplyDeleteCracking up over the Mose piece. Too funny. I know *nothing* about strollers but that one looks like a winner. And judging by the comments, you picked the right one!
ReplyDeleteSweet! It's a small miracle I picked a good one. The nice salesman sold us on the carseat bar too so this is all groovy. Now I just have to pick an according carseat which is a whole nother can of worms. Why do they all have to be beige or grey? Sigh.
ReplyDeletei'm sort of a stroller maniac. i love the little (cheap) snap n go - just a frame that you snap the carseat in. i keep it in the back of my car and it's good for the mall, pediatrician or wherever you go when you don't need the mega-wheels and don't want to load the big 'un up into the car. when (s)he is big enough to go in the regular stroller seat you'll want a lightweight "umbrella" type stroller to stash in the back of your car. i didn't want to shell out the $$ for the mclaren, which my friends have and love. so i opted for a cheap little chicco. i don't love it, but it gets the job done and i don't use it often - just the mall and stuff. happy baby planning!
ReplyDeleteGood thinkin' Molly. Keep on coming with all this good baby info :)
ReplyDeleteHA. You are I have matching everything! Bedding, bobs, etc... You did great! I love my bob and my snap and go! (Which I highly recommend.) I use it all the time. Grocery carts are no longer made to hold car seats (apparently its a liability?) So I take my snap and go everywhere! But the bob is perfect for walks! Cant wait for you to have this sweet baby and then come on back to Greenville and we can take our little ones on walks together! Thinking of you guys!
ReplyDeleteIf you are buying online, always select a baby stroller from a manufacturer with an iron-clad return policy. After all, you don't want to be stuck with a stroller that's difficult to maneuver simply because you chose to buy it online! stroller rain cover
